lyrics

Part I: The Altar Of Mankind

Burn, we burn on the altar that we did earn
And earn we did earn it was our turn
And turn, the world turns and all of our lives we don't learn
And learn, we don't learnt that when we are fools we burn

Hold tight to the little light we have left,
Our mistakes we regret

Sleep brings no joy to me, remembrance.
Flashing eyes found your soul in a mystery, hiding from the fires.

Part II: The Whited Sepulchre

Burn!
You! You whited sepulchre! Cry out you filthy liar!
Feel your attention seeking, self deprecating whore of a life fall away from you.

Fall! Fall false prophet! Bleed out the riches of your crusade!
You took the hand that fed you, but your greed in trying to
take the arms that brought you to the mouth of your victims.

Sleep brings no joy to me, remembrance.
Flashing eyes found your soul in a mystery, hiding from the fires
of a dark and blackened world led by false messiahs;
their message of hope dipped in sweetened lies.

Part III: The Fated Blade

Again and again and again the wielders of that fated blade drop it like a broken undefined object.
The title of saviour passed around like a child with a new found toy.
A product of fear the two edged blade
We've no one to blame, well maybe everyone else!

And as the blood drips from fingers,
we point and say "Be your head on it!"
Man in black or man in white,
is our Messiah, but no salvation in sight.

Sleep brings no joy to me, remembrance
Flashing eyes found your soul in a mystery, hiding from the fires
of a dark and blackened world, led by false messiahs;
their message of hope dipped in sweetened lies.
